Wampum belt...

The dark stix figure represents the Cherokee Indians, the light stick figure represents Virginians / Williamsburg 1755. The dark area on each end represents the homeland of each and the dark row of beads they each are holding represents good diplomacy and truce between them at that time. The design of the belt presented to the Governor in Williamsburg on Sept.5 1755 has been lost in time as well as what happened to it. This belt design was chosen and approved by committee in 2004.
